    11 DAYS – ROUND TRIP FOR NATURE LOVERS AND HIKERS

    This journey leads us through the western part of Iceland. We explore Iceland on foot, by ferry and minibus, explore nature highlights, ideal for sporty people and nature lovers. Some of the highlights on this tour are:

    • One of Iceland’s most popular seal colonies
    • Europe’s largest bird colony
    • Europe’s most powerful hot spring
    • Iceland’s World Heritage Site Þingvellir

    Day 1: Arrival
    Arrival and pick up at the airport in Keflavík between 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm or from around 5:30 p.m. in Reykjavík at the gas station N1, Ártúnshöfði on Vesturlandsvegur heading north out of town. Transfer to the Snæfellsnes peninsula (approx. 3 hours), where we will stay for 2 nights with a view of the Snæfelsjökull glacier – one of the earth’s energy points. (D)
    Day 2: Arnarstapi – Nationalpark Snæfellsnes
    Today we hike on the picturesque lava coast between Arnarstapi and Hellnar, which fascinates with numerous rock formations in the sea. We visit the beautiful bays of Djúpalónssandur and Dritvík and see one of the most famous photo opportunities in Iceland – Mount Kirkjufell – Relaxtion in a natural hot water swimmig pool (B, D)
    Day 3: Stykkisholmur – Ferry – Brjánslækur
    Today we take a ferry trip to the Westfjords, via Breiðarfjörður Bay with its countless islands and skerries. Then continue by bus to the impressive Rauðisandur beach and overnight at Patreksfjörður. At the end of the day we enjoy a natural hot water swimming pool with impressive view. (2x) (B,D)
    Day 4: Látrabjarg
    We hike along the impressive cliffs of Látrabjarg, which are under nature protection, where millions of seabirds live and breed (until the beginning of August). If we are lucky we see the trusting puffins (weather dependent). (B, D)
    Day 5: Dynjandi – Brekkulækur
    The day begins with an excursion to Arnarfjörður, where we visit the beautiful Dynjandi waterfall, which cascades fan-shaped down about 100m. Afterwards we drive along the uninhabited fjord coast of Barðarströnd. Our destination for the day is the idyllically situated Brekkulækur farm and guest house.(3x) (B, D)
    Day 6: Brekkulækur – Peninsula Vatnsnes
    Today we take a trip to the sea, visit a seal bank and the famous bird rock Hvítserkur. Then relax in the naturally warm swimming pool at Hvammstangi and return to Brekkulækur. (B, P, D)
    Day 7: Hiking – Highlands
    Hike over the highland foothills of Hrútafjarðarhál, an extensive wetland with many trout lakes. Afterwards, relax in the naturally hot swimming pool and visit the seal center in village Hvammstangi (optional). (B, P, D)
    Day 8: Borgarfjörður
    We leave guesthouse Brekkulækur an on the way, visit Grábrok volcano, Glanni waterfall and the most powerful hot water spring in Europe: Deildartunguhver. Overnight stay in cozy country hotel, 2 nights (B, D)
    Day 9: Hraunfossar – Barnafoss – Húsafell
    We spent a day with nature sightseeing and hikes at their best in one of the most beautiful valleys in Iceland (B, D)
    Day 10: Uxahryggir – Þingvellir – Reykjanes
    Across the beautiful Lundarreykjadalur valley on the Uxahryggir highland track with a beautiful view of a table mountain and a shield volcano next to each other: Hlöðufell and Skjaldbreiður. Continue on the Kaldidalur highland track to Þingvellir National Park, a short hike and a further drive along the beautiful coastal road on the Reykjanes Peninsula and to Keflavík. Overnight stay in a guest house. (B)
    Day 11: Departure
    At 05:00 am transfer to the airport and farewell to Iceland (B)
