A rebooking fee of 60 Euro per person plus change fees may apply by other service providers than Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren, e.g. airline.
A travel liability insurance is not included in the travel price. Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren recommends taking out such insurance.
5. Withdrawal and cancellation by Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren
Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren reserves the right to cancel group travels 6 weeks before departure, if the minimum number of participants has not been reached. In this case already paid travel fees will be refunded. For additionally booked third-party services (e.g. flights) cancellation terms of the other provider apply.
6. Price changes
Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren reserves the right to subsequently raise prices published in his brochure and on the Internet in exceptional cases and if necessary. Reasons could be changes in exchange rates, officially ordered price increases (e.g. VAT) and changes in transport costs (e.g. fuel costs).
7.Liability of the tour operator
Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren is liable within the due care of a diligent merchant for
• conscientious travel preparation
• the careful selection and monitoring of service providers
• the accurate description of all tour services specified in the brochure of Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren
• the proper provision of the contractually agreed travel services
Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren is not liable for changes in the tour route due to bad weather or road conditions. Tours can also take place in the opposite direction. Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren shall not be held liable for service disruptions arising in relation to third-party services (flights etc.). No liability will be accepted for baggage items.
Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren has a valid insolvency insurance in accordance with Section 651 k of the German Civil Code (BGB) complying with the Tourism law No 73/2005 including subsequent amendments. That law corresponds with Directive 90/314/EWG of the Council of 13 June 1990 on package tours, which is part of the EEA Agreement.
In the event of insolvency or the initiation of insolvency proceedings regarding the assets of the tour operator this insurance will cover the reimbursement of essential expenses for the return journey of travel participants, the fulfilment of service features belonging to a package tour which has already started as well as the refund of advance payments made by participants of package tours.
8. Obligations and binding cooperation of the travel participant
After receipt of the booking confirmation and invoice the travel participant is obliged to immediately check the correctness and to inform Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren without delay of any errors or discrepancies. Furthermore the tour member shall be obliged:
• to follow the instructions of the tour guide or other respective service providers and to respect the applicable laws and regulations of the travel destination
• to show consideration towards fellow travellers
Travel participants are personally responsible for their actions and shall be liable for any damage caused by them. In the event of non-compliance with the obligations, Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren may terminate the travel-agreement. Any resulting costs shall be paid by the travel participant.
9. Warranty and remedy
If agreed travel services are not fulfilled, the travel participant is entitled to demand redress. Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren can find a remedy by providing a service of equal value. Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren can deny a remedy if it requires a disproportionate effort.
The travel participant can demand a price reduction for the duration of the time in which the booked services have not been fulfilled if he/she notifies the tour guide of the travel deficiencies immediately. If the tour guide is not available, the travel participant should report the travel deficiencies directly to Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren unless considerable difficulties or major causes make the complaint unreasonable. The relevant telephone- and fax numbers can be found in the travel documents. If the travel participant culpably fails to report the complaint, he/she is not entitled to a reduction of the travel price.
If a journey is substantially impaired as a consequence of a deficiency and the tour operator does not take remedial action during a reasonable period of time, the travel participant may cancel the contract within the scope of applicable legal provisions; in his/her own interest and due to substation reasons through written declaration.
The same applies if a tour is not reasonable for the travel participant because of a deficiency leading to an important recognizable reason that is obvious to the tour operator. A deadline for remedial action is set, except that remedy is impossible or refused by the tour operator or if the immediate cancellation of the contract is justified through a special interest on the part of the travel participant.
Regardless of reduction or termination the travel participant may claim compensation, unless the deficiency is due to circumstances beyond the control of the tour operator. If the travel participant does not make use of services included in the tours or programmes, he/she may not claim a refund.
Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren is not liable for changes in the tour route due to bad weather or road conditions. Tours may also start in the opposite direction. Arinbjörn Jóhannsson Erlebnistouren shall not be held liable for mediated third party services (e.g. excursions, rental cars, flights etc.). No liability will be accepted for baggage items.
10. Flights
For flights, the General Terms and Conditions of the respective airline apply and travellers should become familiar with them in advance. In case of loss or damage or delay of luggage, the traveller must immediately notify the actual air carrier. If the luggage is damaged notice must be given within 7 days after luggage distribution, if it is delayed within 21 days after delivery. The notification is required for the liability of the air carrier. If the traveller accepts the checked baggage without reservation this action shall establish the disputable presumption that it has been delivered undamaged. It is therefore recommended to report damage or lost luggage immediately at the destination airport to the air carrier‘s handling agent.

11. Insurances
Unless otherwise stated in the travel description, insurance is not included in the tour price. For your own safety we recommend that you take out a travel insurance policy which includes baggage, accident, health interruption and travel liability insurance. Please also remember to bring your European Health Insurance card, available at your national health insurance company.

Note:

According to regulations, riding-clothes and everything else that is bound to come into contact with horses has to be disinfected before travelling to Iceland (unless it is newly bought). Clothes can be chemically dry-cleaned and you can get other things (helmets, boots, etc.) disinfected at Public Health Departments, Institutes for infectious diseases or at the vet, etc. Please keep proof ready on arrival in Iceland. Leather clothes or wax-like jackets are not suitable since they are difficult to disinfect. Fur further information see: www.mast.is
